Two sample photos can appear different because the room light changed. Use the same background, camera position, and ambient lighting when recording a comparison, and include an untouched reference in the frame when practical.
Record the surface condition and cleaning state separately. A consistent photograph makes the review easier, but it does not replace direct inspection or prove how another material will behave.
